Our purpose
Grown in Harmony CIC exists to support communities through the donation of fruit trees, the provision of training and hands-on horticultural education, and the creation of inclusive growing opportunities that promote environmental sustainability, wellbeing and long-term food resilience.
Our activities are designed to increase access to fruit trees, growing skills and
knowledge, particularly for communities experiencing disadvantage, barriers to access or food insecurity.
Governance and directors
Grown in Harmony CIC is governed by a board of three directors, all of whom hold
equal responsibility and equal voting rights.

The directors work collectively to safeguard the CIC’s community purpose, ensure
legal and regulatory compliance, and oversee strategy, finances and delivery.
Decision-making
As a company limited by guarantee, Grown in Harmony CIC has no shareholders and does not distribute profits. Any surplus is reinvested to support the CIC’s community purpose.
Decisions are made collaboratively by the directors, with no individual director holding overriding authority.
People with Significant Control (PSC)
The CIC is limited by guarantee, and all directors have equal voting rights. As a result, there is no individual Person with Significant Control as defined by UK company law.
Use of funds
All income received by Grown in Harmony CIC, including grants, donations and project income, is used solely to further the CIC’s community benefit objectives. The CIC maintains accurate financial records and complies with statutory reporting requirements.
Accountability and reporting
Grown in Harmony CIC files the required annual accounts and CIC reports and is accountable to the CIC Regulator, Companies House, funders, partners and the communities it serves.
