The Parsnip Club
The volunteer heart of Grown in Harmony CIC
The Parsnip Club is a welcoming community group bringing people together through growing, friendship and shared purpose.
Created to help reduce isolation and improve wellbeing, The Parsnip Club offers a relaxed and supportive environment where people can enjoy gentle outdoor activity, connect with others and feel valued as part of our growing community.
Many of our volunteers are part of our wonderful older generation — affectionately known as our “Parsnip Pensioners” — but everyone is welcome, regardless of age, experience or ability.
The Parsnip Club is a vital part of the Grown in Harmony story. Together, volunteers will help create and care for the Living Orchard Hub, including our community orchard, kitchen garden and bee-friendly growing spaces.
From planting and tending fruit trees to caring for pollinator-friendly plants, the group helps nurture spaces that will benefit the whole community for generations to come.
The sale of bee-friendly plants and seasonal produce will also help support the long-term sustainability of Grown in Harmony CIC and its community programmes.Whether you would like to: Meet new people Enjoy a cuppa and a chat Spend time outdoors Support community growing Grow fresh produce Share your skills Improve your wellbeing through gentle activity Or simply become part of something meaningful… you will always be warmly welcomed at The Parsnip Club.
And if gardening is not for you, but making the tea is — then that may just be the most important role of all.
